Windows! Windows! Windows!
Back by popular demand!!
We are bringing back our educational program about historic wood windows, but this time, there's even more!!!
This program will be all about historic wood windows. It will cover different design types and functions, how they are made, key features of their design, why they are superior to new replacements, how they are supposed to function, and how you can repair and maintain them.
Do you love old houses? Then you're going to love this!
-
Do your old windows open and shut easily?
-
Do you know why your windows have ropes?
-
Were you told your windows are "too far gone"??
-
Are your old windows drafty?
-
Are you thinking of replacing your windows?
-
Do you wonder why older windows look better than new ones?
-
How do I fix broken glass without replacing the whole window?
All of these questions and more will be answered!!
Come a bit early to grab a beverage at the NC Beer Factory and support this local business! (they have soft drinks as well)
Bring a snack if you like!
This will be super fun and super casual, so come relax and hang out with us and learn something new about old houses!!!

Come join us at the home of our board members Adrienne Copland and Mike Finney. This beautiful home was built in 1914 in the Villa Place Historic District. Longtime residents will remember this as the home of Chief "Red" Nichols. It had fallen into disrepair over the years, but the current owners have rehabbed the interior and exterior to bring back the historic charm. They have restored the original exterior, returned it to it's original floor plan, and made the house usable again with modern conveniences that are hidden with period appropriate finishes and fixtures. This is a house tour you won't want to miss.

A short house history will be given at 6:15 pm.
Light refreshments.
